We are pleased to invite you to apply for the first in a series of three winter workshops focused on clinical and technical concepts related to multiple sclerosis (MS) research. This workshop series is organized under the EU-funded Twinning Action project, TACTIX, in which Boğaziçi University coordinates a consortium with partners from Amsterdam University Medical Center (AUMC) in the Netherlands and Fraunhofer MEVIS in Germany. The workshop is a three-day event, accommodating around 15 participants, and is free registration , including light refreshments.
About TACTIX
The TACTIX project, "Twinning Approach for Computational MRI Technology and Innovation Excellence in Türkiye," is a prestigious initiative aimed at enhancing the scientific excellence and innovation capacity of Boğaziçi University in the field of computational magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Esin Öztürk Işık and in collaboration with renowned European institutions— Amsterdam University Medical Center and Fraunhofer MEVIS—the project seeks to advance computational MRI research through shared expertise and collaborative innovation.
About TACTIX 2025 Winter Workshop
Subject and level:
- Topics Covered: The workshop will delve into the clinical and technical concepts related to multiple sclerosis (MS) and related conditions, including the pathophysiology of MS, MRI techniques, and imaging biomarkers. It will feature case-based learning, diagnostic approaches, practical insights into clinical decision-making, and also provide hands-on tutorials on clinical-research tools. Please note that registration is available for the entire event only, not for individual lectures.
- Language Proficiency: All courses and materials will be conducted in English. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through an official language exam (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS) or, in exceptional cases, via a brief personal interview conducted by members of the Evaluation Committee.
- Difficulty Level: Intermediate-Advanced. The workshop is intended for participants with academic background and a foundational level of clinical and technical knowledge in MRI, and basic understanding of MS.
Eligibility and requirements:
- Target Audience: The workshop targets Early Career Researchers affiliated with research institutions in Türkiye, Fraunhofer MEVIS, AUMC, and other organizing institutions. Eligible participants include PhD students/candidates, Post-Doctoral researchers, Master’s students, and junior researchers. Priority will be given to those affiliated with Boğaziçi University and a maximum of 3 candidates from AUMC, Fraunhofer MEVIS, or the workshop organizers.
